Allan Bayer

Allan Bayer was born in 1974. He qualified as a goldsmith under the tuition of renowned designer Jytte Kløve and in 2007, opened his own workshop/store in Copenhagen. The symbiotic balance between Allan Bayer’s passion for Shamanism and the natural world, along with his former career as an auto mechanic with an infatuation for the pulsating city life, culminates in beautiful, authentic jewelry. Allan’s jewelry is inspired by the intricate forms found in nature. He works with painstaking attention to detail to create pieces that remain true to their natural form. Allan is a self-proclaimed city geek who tries to be connected to both modern society and nature…to power and feelings…to rock music and tree-hugging.

Anders Martin Bruun

I see myself as an independent businessman/an artist/a designer/a goldsmith and an entertainer, that loves to become absorbed in the small details, in whatever I'm working on at the moment. I express myself by being as precise and pure as possible, and I find it very challenging and exciting to work with Trollbeads. In designing a trollbead, I try to combine humour and details with a certain amount of cuteness. And it's important for me to integrate the hole into the design of a bead. Anna Hyllested

Anna Hyllested was born in 1973 and trained as a goldsmith with Per Borup Design in 1999. Since 2001, she has operated the jeweler's workshop Krebs Hyllested in Copenhagen with her husband Peter Krebs. Over the last 10 years, Anna has designed a wide range of jewelry marketed to an exclusive customer base from her workshop in Copenhagen. Here she tries new ideas in sketch form, models, and prototypes, until a piece finds its ultimate expression. "For me, my love for the trade lies in complete immersion. The play with materials, working over the details, and the search for the right expression before the piece takes its final form. But in reality what I care most about is the process of creating a piece of jewelry together with the recipient. Within specific parameters. That, in my opinion, is art.

Asger Max Andersen

Graduated as jeweler in 1965 from Georg Jensen Copenhagen. Asger has several years of teaching experience and has worked abroad before he started his own company in 1975. He is located in Roskilde, Denmark.

Benedetta Romita

I was born in Rome in 1976, the same year as Trollbeads, and from early childhood I have been drawing everything - everyday. I got my degree as an Italian Secondary School teacher at Liceo School specialising in scientific studies and afterwards I graduated with full marks and honours in Costume and Fashion at "Accademia di Costume e Moda"," in Rome. My artistic background has mostly been in fashion because I love shoes, bags, etc and the process of producing them, but I also love all fairy things and when I discovered the Trollbeads world in October 2007 I immediately thought: "I found my jewels!". I express myself better with my creations, my drawings and my collages. Ideas and feelings come to me and voila - something new is born. My two favourite moments of the day are at dawn just before sunrise, and then the moment called "lheure bleu" in French, the hour between sunset and night. In the first everything becomes pink, and in the second everything becomes blue. This is me.

Christel Kaaber

During my apprenticeship with Svend Nielsen, I was able to follow and participate in the development of the Trollbeads. I designed my beads at this time and I focused on simplicity and humor.

Eske Storm

Eske Storm graduated as a goldsmith from Hertz& Jakobsen in Copenhagen, Denmark and from the School of Arts in Tasco, Mexico. Received a bronze medal in 1995 in the Danish Art & Craft-competition. Opened his own store in 2001 in downtown Copenhagen next door to the Trollbeads Headquarter in Toldbodgade. His customers comes from as opposite places as the Royal resident to the free City of Christiania. “I like to work in a realistic universe – you could call it a typical Danish design universe but maybe it really is in fact my own personal universe. My inspiration comes mainly from my travels around the world and my meeting with local tribal cultures. I’m strongly influenced by old Nordic mythology. You could call what I design for space-Viking jewellery”. “It has been a very natural process for me to work within the Trollbeads universe. I carved my own first bead when I was 6-7 years old in Greenlandic soapstone, at the same time I carved my first miniature elephant, which today has developed into the Elephant Lock”.

Gabriele Weber-Vögele

Gabriele Weber-Vögele began working as a goldsmith in 1982. She lives and works in Germany, where she opened her own store as a jeweler and goldsmith in 1992, after finishing her master’s. I love to create special pieces in order to show people’s unique and incomparable personalities, often with details that symbolize special moments in their lives. In 2006, I started selling Trollbeads myself and it still fascinates me that many people relate their beads with specific parts of their lives. Now living here on the island of Sylt, I am inspired by the surrounding nature. The Lighthouse bead is, of course, inspired by this, but also by the Trollbeads spirit, where you can transform a piece of silver into feelings, dreams and humour.

Gitte Bjørn

Gitte Bjorn is an educated goldsmith from 1993. Already from her graduation project it was obvious that she wanted to work sculpturally. She has exhibited in Denmark as well as internationally and describe her work this way: With my work I strive to give room and physical reality to the part of my imagination, that I allow myself - still - to live in a parallel world populated with mythological beings and animals in a gothic time. In this way I keep " the bridge down" and treat myself with a sure expectation of joy and excitement that lays ahead of me.

Isabel Aagaard

When you are born into a family as creative as mine, it is a natural choice for me to be a part of the creative aspect of Trollbeads. My first Trollbead is inspired by the Japanese art of folding paper, called Origami. I have always been fascinated by old traditions and geometry.

Jamie North

Jamie North lives in Calgary, Alberta, Canada where she has been an avid beader, jewelry designer and instructor for more than 5 years. The concept for this bead developed from my love of animals ... in particular, dogs ... but all animals. Love for our pets is something people around the world have in common. Many of the qualities and behaviour we admire most in our fellow man are ones that we can learn from our much loved pets - loyalty, forgiveness, being non-judgmental, acceptance, humility, having the ability to love unconditionally to name just a few. The world would be a better place if we could all be the kind of person our pets THINK we are.

Jens Nielsen

I have been on the team developing the Trollbead concept from the first day. It is necessary to be familiar with and to understand how to craft the beads but at the same time understand how to use modern techniques. In this way, we can offer unique jewelry to the market and at reasonable prices. For me, it is an exciting challenge to combine the creative spirit with modern production methods.

Jytte kløve

I am standing at the helm of a ship sailing into the future. My cargo is securely stowed in the hold below me. The view from the bridge is wonderful - no two outlooks on the real world are alike. Each day brings a new sunrise, new colors, because each morning adds yet another day to life and anything can happen.

Kasia Gasparski

Gasparski trained as a goldsmith under Jytte Klove from 1990 -1994. Since 1996 she has had her own workshop and gallery, "Guldkompagniet," centrally located in Copenhagen. Her style is graphic, with simple, symbolic effects. In 1996 Gasparski received a three-year grant from the Danish Arts Foundation and her work may be seen at exhibitions both in Denmark and abroad.

Lars Glad

Lars Glad finished his education as jeweler in 1993. He finds his inspiration in the working process developing form into jewelry and again into new jewelry. He favors the simple en functional. Over the years he has received several recognitions within the trade. Today he works from his workshop in Kompagnistrode in Copenhagen. This Trollbead is inspired from the simple form of a bicone, a trademark from the Designer of this bead.

Lise Aagaard

The inspiration for my beads often comes from my world travels. They often mirror a detail from another culture. I have always loved all forms of beads, their history and the details surrounding the production. Today I work with development and production of glass beads. The glass and the silver compliment each other so beautifully

Maria Nielsen

Maria Nielsen has managed Barbara Maria's Goldsmith in the heart of the old Dragor, Denmark since 1997. Maria Nielsen is a graduated diamondgrader certified by IDC. This ranks her among Denmark's best professionals for grading diamonds. In her goldsmith Maria works with design and production of new jewelry. On working with art and design Maria Nielsen says: " It is inspiring for me to translate the emotions which my customers wish to express, into a handmade piece of jewelry. Jewelry should help express and enhance the bearers personality".

Marjoke van de Plassche

'I am a biologist and that's probably why a lot of my ideas for jewelry are based on nature and environmental issues. I began designing jewelry just about a year ago, after taking a Goldsmith course at a local art centre, and I haven't been able to stop ever since! I'm excited about all the exciting possibilities of working with metals, but especially enameling has caught my attention. I love the combination of transparent colored glass on pure silver. Apart from being a biologist and a jewelry-hobbyist, I am also a mother of three children, so my life is really busy. Most ideas just bubble up when I do the daily chores like laundry, the dishes or changing diapers. The only problem is that I have more ideas than time! As Trollbeads is becoming an international organization, I hope a bead concerning environmental issues will be added to its collection. Preferably to make a positive change. I hope in this way my design will contribute to a better world for all children - including my own.'

Mette Saabye

Goldsmith Mette Saabye started her education in Italy in 1988 and finished in Copenhagen in 1994. Since then she's been showing her work at many large fairs thoughout the world; since 1996 she's had her own workshop, which is located on Vesterbrogade in Copenhagen.

Michael Weihe

I graduated as a Silversmith in 2000, at Georg Jensen Solvsmedie. By 2001 I had started Weihe Solvsmedie and now have a Studio and shop in Haderslev (DK). When Shaping my designs I tend to use nature as a guide, and for the more cubed designs I use large machines. I pick out the details and perfect them, and recreate them into jewelry.

Milly Page

Milly Page is a student from Melbourne, Australia. She has been singing in choirs since she was 8 years old and says her "two passions in life are music and Trollbeads." Milly has combined these two passions beautifully in the Hallelujah bead. "Music can play such an important role in people's lives, crossing all language and cultural barriers. For me the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah has always stood out as a piece of music that conveys a feeling of pure joy."

Nicolai Appel

Born in 1966 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Conducted his goldsmith apprenticeship with Georg Jensen. Educated in Design at the Institute of Precious Metals in 1996. Has participated in various national and international exhibitions. Designed for Stelton and completed assignments such as the IT University Rector's Chain. In 2006, drew The Polar Bear Stamp for gold jewelry of Greenland. Member and co-founder of Galerie Metal.

Nicolas Aagaard

It's very exiting for me to be to be a part of Trollbeads. Especially since I'm a part of the third generation of Trollbead artists in my family. There is all this history to Trollbeads that I get to be a part of. When I make a Trollbead, I try to give it life. There has to be a reason for the Trollbead to exist. To me Trollbeads are not just jewelry; every single Trollbead has a life, a soul and a history.

Ragnar R. Jørgensen

Ragnar Jorgensen began his education as jeweler at Grand Valley State University in US in 1990. After returning to Denmark he finished his education in 1995 at Jeweler Ole Lynggaard in Hellerup. Recently he has been working as jeweler as well as designer in US, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. In 1999 he was accepted as freelance designer for Georg Jensen and has lately designed and produced several collections.

Ricardas Kapucinskas

I adore the nature of glass. Its diverse colours and I just love the finished product. It has been a dream of mine to work in glass for the past five years and just half a year ago I finally had the opportunity to do so. I do my work best when wearing a pair of headphones, listening to loud march music. My inspiration comes from that music and from many different ornaments and art from intriguing cultures. I am happily married to Rasa with whom I have a son named Kristijonas. In my spare time I enjoy playing music with my brass band: Orkestras or watch TV shows about nature and history. I also like fishing and long walks.

Signe M. Schumann

I have worked as a goldsmith for Lise Aagaard since the summer 2000. Surrounded by Trollbeads morning to evening... it had to happen, I designed my first Trollbead. My family name is Schumann, the name of a famous Danish traveling circus, and Soren Solvsmed once said to me, with a name like that you ought to make circus jewelry! Therefore my first Trollbead is a circus clown.

Suzanne Marie Hopping

Suzanne lives in Sydney and is a committed Italofile with a love for spicy cooking, hot weather and anything to do with art, design, photography and drawing. Apart from being a terrible Trollbeads addict, she is crazy about dogs. Did recently adopt a 3-year-old, ex-racing greyhound, named “Suddenly Trendy”. It is now renamed Alice Pearl. Suzanne is a graphic designer by profession who has worked in publishing for many years. After working as Art Director on the Australian edition of Cosmopolitan Magazine for 12 years, she moved on to other challenges and is now pursuing a career in freelance.

Svend Nielsen

I began my education as a goldsmith in 1932 where I worked together with eight other smiths until 1937. Charms for bracelets were something completely new... we even got media coverage! So we produced small buckets, rakes and spades to hang on bracelets- in gold. Anything that would sell. The artistic element wasn't the main focus although it was okay to make something "new" or "different." As a young man, my life was of course influenced by travel and to an even stronger extent, the war, but goldsmith'ing was and continues to be the main focus of my life.

Søren Sølvsmed

My first Trollbeads were designed with little faces and figurines in Sterling Silver and strung on leather. Their intention was to tell a story and facilitate communication between people. It is now more than 30 years since I began. Trolls, stories, mythology and other cultures are often my inspiration.

Thor Høy

Everywhere I go, I get inspiration...for a new lamp, furniture, interior design a machine or...a Trollbead...It may be in the wild or in town, on a trip or at home with my son, in industry or in art, among animals and humans...Trollbeads can accommodate both the graphic and imaginative, the logical and the adventurous, and I am proud to be part of it.

Tom Blicher

Tom Blicher has designed jewelry in his own workshop since 1992. Inspiration comes from organic forms and movements and the lines found there. Those lines are often reflected in Tom's jewelry. He describes his creative process thusly: I design my jewelry so that they are little sculptures in themselves. In my thoughts I see them as sculptures on solid ground. Their lines and movements must support this magnification in order to appear complete in my eyes.

Tomas Cenius

Self-taught designer Tomas Cenius describes his style as clean, Nordic designs combined with figurative forms. He began his career modeling comic book figures out of clay before learning the art of wax modeling from Søren Sølvsmed. Under Søren’s tuition, Tomas became a master of the craft and gained notoriety for the exquisite “Seasons” ring. He has created jewelry for Denmark’s Crown Prince Frederick and Crown Princess Mary, but prefers designing jewelry that everyone can afford and enjoy. “Essentially, my goal is to make beautiful jewelry that touches people. I give the same attention to every piece, whether it is for the royal couple or the lady next door. When I work with Trollbeads, I like the fact that I design something that defines human emotions.”

Trine Tanja Falsled

It is an exciting process to create a bead. First I decide how to arrange the animals in relation to each other. Then I try to bring out the specific characteristics of the animal with as many details as possible. I have designed most of my beads in my time as an apprentice with Svend Nielsen, and it is great to see that I have now turned out a whole herd. I hope that you will be happy for your bead.
